Zhang Yilong, Jayson is a multi-talented musician, specializing in vocal performance, jazz drumming, and multiple instruments, including guitar. He has just completed his studies for Master's in Music Performance at the University of West London, following his undergraduate studies in Music Performance at Guangxi Arts University.
Jayson has achieved numerous accolades throughout his career, including first prize in the Nanning drum set competition, Silver Medal in the Singapore Western Instrumental Competition, and multiple awards in popular singing competitions. He has performed in original operas, winning the Excellent Play Award at the 4th China Opera Festival, and has gained extensive performance experience through college practice performances and collaborations.
As a skilled drummer and vocalist, Jayson has performed at prominent jazz venues such as Blujaz, Simply Jazz, and Cool Cats in Singapore. In 2024, he led a jazz sextet in collaboration with renowned Singaporean saxophonist EJ Hughes and other notable musicians, further showcasing his talent. His involvement extends to teaching drums, vocals, and guitar, where his students earned a bronze medal in the Singapore Western Instrumental Competition.
Jayson’s passion for performance and education is reflected in his ongoing work as a studio musician and his dedication to researching techniques for balancing singing and playing multiple instruments. With a wide range of skills in pop singing, bel canto, musical theater, and instrumental music, Jayson is a dynamic talent in both vocal and instrumental performance.
